|
|
T’ai Chi Ch’uan is an
ancient Chinese martial art and health practice that exercises the body,
mind, and spirit. The flowing
movements act as a moving meditation that gently works muscles, improves
concentration, and increases the flow of vital energy, or chi, through the
body. |

There are many benefits
to practicing T’ai Chi: ·
Clear mind, relaxed body, nourished spirit ·
Improved
balance, strength, and stamina ·
Reduced risk of heart disease, high blood pressure,
and stress ·
Improved
health and longevity ·
Increased energy flow |

T'ai Chi is not aggressive or competitive. There are no ranks or
belts as there are in other martial arts. Students compete only with
themselves. |

I have
been a student in Tom Kondo’s Tai Chi class for about a year now. The
experience has been very educational and rewarding. Tom makes you feel right at home and really
provides a great opportunity to learn this art at your own pace. He is
obviously very experienced and skilled at what he teaches. Tom has a great
ability to observe his students precisely and give the feedback you need when
you need it without overpowering you.
I certainly recommend it to anyone. -- Frank Fahrlander |

Tom Kondo
teaches an Integrated form of T’ai Chi known as the Chen Pan-Ling form. It
has elements from the Yang style as well as Ba Gua and Xing-i.
This form is a choreographed set of movements, which takes about 30 minutes
to complete. What’s a
class like? It begins with a few minutes of standing meditation followed by
some warm-up and stretching exercises.
Attention is given to specific postures and principles. Individuals then work one-on-one with Tom
on whatever movement they have progressed to in the form. The class then does the form in unison. |
